Standing in the middle of a sell-out crowd, flame throwers and fireworks launching, and 11 of WA's best athletes running past. That's been my summer for the past four years, shooting for the Big Bash League's Perth Scorchers.

Nothing quite prepares you for the thrill, the pressure and the excitement that comes with shooting for one of WA's most successful sporting teams. Whether it's capturing the players from the sidelines, shooting the excitement of the crowd, or finding an exciting new angle of the ground, there's never been a shortage of adrenaline.

The deadlines were tight, providing images within an hour of the game finishing, and the pressure was immense, but each year teaches me something new about photography and pushes me to my limits in the best way possible.
